Round 15 of the AFL home and away season gets underway with what shapes as a massive clash between the competition's heavyweights, Richmond and the Sydney Swans, on Thursday June 28 at Etihad Stadium.

The two sides currently occupy the top two spots on the AFL ladder and are expected to go deep into September. Richmond have been posted as slight favourites in the early head to head betting for the 7.20PM clash and the winner will jump to top spot on the ladder with eight weeks to go in the regular season.

Both sides head in with fresh legs after enjoying the week off with the bye in Round 14. Prior to that, Richmond defeated Geelong at the MCG, while Sydney enjoyed a win over West Coast. The Swans have won their past five, while the Tigers have won three of their past four.

On Friday night we are back at the same venue of Etihad Stadium for the Western Bulldogs and Geelong Cats encounter. The Cats are amongst a host of sides that sit on eight wins for the year and can ill afford a slip up against the Bulldogs, who are languishing in 14th spot on the ladder with just four victories for the year.

On Saturday there are four games in store and the first of those sees Carlton take on Port Adelaide at the MCG. Like Geelong a night earlier, Port Adelaide get their chance to consolidate their spot in the eight. Ken Hinkley's men currently sit in 5th position on the ladder and should notch up their 10th win of the season.

Following this it is the Adelaide Crows that play host to the West Coast Eagles at the Adelaide Oval. Both sides will be out to reverse a form slump. The Crows have tumbled out of contention, losing their past four, while West Coast have dropped their past two and now sit in 3rd position on the ladder after setting the pace in the first half of the season.

On Saturday night it is Collingwood that travel to the Gold Coast to take on the Suns, while Hawthorn venture to Sydney and face GWS. Expect the Magpies to get the job done against the Suns, while the Giants and Hawks clash looms as a tight one. The 7.25PM clash is pivotal to both sides finals chances.

On Sunday there are three games to close out the weekend and it is Melbourne and St Kilda that kick off proceedings at the MCG, while a short time later, Essendon and North Melbourne square off at Etihad Stadium. With the exception of St Kilda, those teams are still in the hunt.

The final game of Round 15 sees the Fremantle Dockers take on the Brisbane Lions at Perth Stadium. The full fixture for the weekend is outlined below. All times are in AEST and head to head betting odds are courtesy of CrownBet.
